What happens to confiscated guns?

Police in Utah seize hundreds or thousands of guns each year. Most of the seized weapons were not used in the commission of a crime. Some were brand new and still in the box. Some were Christmas gifts.

The guns were not confiscated from criminals. Some were. Most were not. If the FBI decides you shouldn't have a gun, they take them.
